The world of MARY CHING encapsulates the world of FORBIDDEN OPULENCE. The tension between Chinese opulence and British eccentricity. This tension is also reflected in the MARY CHING women whom is strong yet fragile, fashionable yet vulnerable. We loved this recent China Vogue editorial featuring a white corset as a reflection of the MARY CHING girl.

Dear Balenciaga designers,

I am thrilled with my new collar you boys have designed. My owner proudly gifted me and I feel very privileged Not to mention all the girls in the park have noticed me more than usual this last week and of course all the ladies in my office. I feel like a true alfa boy. If you ever need a model I would be delighted. I asked to send you some snapshots for you to see how I rock Balenciaga in Shanghai!

Yours Sincerely,
Mr Dim Sin aka the Guardian of the MARY CHING Stiletto

Answer from Balenciaga:

Thank you so much Alison.

Mr Dim Sum is indeed a true Alpha boy.
He rocks it perfectly and it was expertly selected.

Thanks so much for forwarding on the pictures. I shall indeed share them with the team. It is so nice when we receive feedback like this and when our beautiful items go to such a very good home.

It was lovely to meet you and I look forward to seeing you next time you are in London. Do stop by, even if it is just to say Hello.

May Mr Dim Sum guard over your stilettos with a new found attitude and vitality. Send him our best wishes.

Kindest regards

Richard

Jeremy Scott's successful collaboration with Adidas made it to Shanghai last week. Ms MARY CHING and friends danced the night away to DJ sets by The Misshapes and DJ Spenny. Mr Scott himself was there to create a hype amongst his adoring fans in head to toe Adidas. The venue Zeal, a bar on the bund was breath taking and no doubt made an impression on Mr Scott himself and brand ambassador Eason Chan. We may have rocked the party but lets not forget Adidas rocks!

Spring Cleaning at the Studio

dim
Spring is upon us, and while the temperature is heating up and the flowers begin to blossom outside, the Mary Ching crew is busy with spring cleaning on the inside. The new addition of spacious white cupboards helped tidy things up around the studio, but not without a thorough inspection from Mr. Dim. We think he approves.

One of the most notable dandies of them all—Oscar Wilde—once said, “One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.” This month’s edition of China Vogue truly heeds the famed writer’s words, portraying a style so refined yet so nonchalant. The notion of “dandyism” dates back to 18th Century England, and Ms. Mary Ching, herself a mix of British and Chinese heritage, absolutely loves Vogue’s depiction of simultaneously sexy and stoic fashion.

If you have heard of Facebook, you may have heard of David Choe, the graffiti artist who made headlines after painting Facebook’s main office with his electrifying artwork. David Choe happens to be one of Ms. Mary Ching’s favorite artists, and the vibrant colors on display in the Chingdom, more specifically the Great Wall of Mary Ching, certainly attest to her passion for boundless artistry.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover. Truer words have never been spoken regarding Ms. Mary Ching’s humble abode—the Chingdom. A street view offers nothing but a simple apartment building, all too common in the sprawling city of Shanghai; however, one step inside reveals a living space embodying the creative spirit of Ms. Mary Ching. From the vivid graffiti jumping off the walls of the dining room -The Great wall of MARY CHING- to the fedora lights illuminating the living room, the Chingdom truly echoes the unmistakable style and elegance of Mary Ching.
