THE BANANA PANTS

We're sure all of our readers know how it feels when a supermodel takes your signature look and manages to make it look, well, a hell of a lot better. (We'd better lay off the mince pies, Ms. CHING!) Chrissy's banana pants were a s/s 2010 staple that took her from the office to art openings, usually styled monochromatically. (Head to toe yellow? Yes, believe you us, it's awesome.)

Props to supermodel Shu Pei for making the omni-present Chinese penchant for colored jeans international.

THE EIGHTIES REVIVAL

Ms. MARY CHING and friends decided to party like it was 1989 in Beijing the weekend before last; apparently glowstick mania has swept the capital! We love the artsy photos, Ms. CHING, can we come along next time?

THE PINS, THE GAMS, THE STEMS...

Ms. CHING would like to send Monsieur Serge a big bisous for introducing us to two fabulous dancers for new nightclub Drop's Grand Opening Weekend! Yulia and Julia rocked MARY CHING stilettos on a podium for a Hongkongese-heavy VIP crowd on both Friday and Saturday nights, and their "sexy legs" choreography garnered much appreciation from the boys in the crowd...

THE BEST TAOBAO FIND EVER

Chrissy was looking for knock-off chairs on Taobao yesterday when she found something truly hilarious...one Chinese vendor has used a picture of her mom's house in Phuket to advertise his wares! They certainly are resourceful...

THE RIGHT MOOD

Today at MARY CHING HQ we all feel like karate chopping something...anything! (Three events in three nights? Ms. CHING is awfully ambitious...)

Someone over at ELLE China must have felt the same way when putting together the October issue...

THE MILLINER'S BLACK TIE DINNER

P1010691
Elisabeth Koch

Sadly, Ms. MARY CHING's camera struggled with the excitement of Saturday's Christmas party hosted by Beijing-based milliner Elisabeth Koch; 28 guests were invited to a hidden hutong in the city's old quarter for a formal sit-down dinner. Ms. Koch gave the event a lovely personal touch as she set the table with her anniversary napkins from 2007! Why not, say we...

THE CHINGLISH II

nigxia girl

Timmy posted today about how 'Chinglish' garments drive him insane. Now, whilst sometimes we agree, all of the MARY CHINGERS own at least one garment with something ridiculous splashed across it.

How about this girl we spotted a while back up in Ningxia, Timmy? We weren't able to get a clear shot, but the bottom line reads 'ON FIRST DATE.' Nice, no?

THE BEST IDEA FOR MEN THIS CHRISTMAS

SeasonsGreetings

We love how Forest Bird, the most fabulous concept store in Hong Kong (and our stockist), offers this service for Christmas:
DELIVERIES FOR MEN ONLY

BUDGET + NAME LIST + DATE OF DELIVERY + OFFICE ADDRESS = No Sweat for the Husband, Father, or Son.

We also like how they've put the MARY CHING 'Christine' as the perfect gift for a lover(s)...Of course they are, darlings! Gentlemen, give them to all your girls...

THE LADIES WHO LUNCH

MS. MARY CHING snuck out for a luncheon hosted by Jeanne Lawrence of the New York Social Diary at new hip hotel The Waterhouse yesterday and reported back that we must start hosting some ladies luncheons of our own! We'll let you MARY CHING girls know, we think the new Waldorf Astoria would be a lovely place for our first...
